THE STORY

Behind the Record

Concentrate was born in the kind of session where the lights are low and nobody's watching the clock. Lee Ali wanted to make something that felt like the space between midnight and 4 AM, that hour where the world gets honest.

The collaboration with Gwen Bunn happened organically. Two artists who understood what it meant to pour everything into a single moment. Gwen's voice brought the vulnerability. Lee brought the weight. Together, they created something that sits in that rare space between desire and discipline, wanting someone so deeply it disrupts your focus, but being too locked in on your purpose to let anything pull you off course.

“I don't wanna feel this way, I can't even concentrate.”

Producer Axl Rich built the sonic architecture. Warm, layered, and spacious. Dex Lattimore's guitar threads through the production like late-night conversation, improvised and intimate. The result is a record that doesn't demand attention. It earns it.

Where Marble Floors was about walking through pain to build something beautiful, Concentrate is about what happens after, when the world is watching, the pressure is real, and someone walks into your life who makes you question whether you can keep your eyes on the prize.

LYRICS

Concentrate

I don't wanna feel this way,

I can't even concentrate.

Tell me why I feel this way, way... yeah, yeah, yeah...

Tell me why I feel this way.

I don't even feel the same,

I can't even concentrate.

I don't even feel the same,

I think you're the one to blame.

What a shame, what a shame,

Don't even know what to say, suffocate (oh yeah, yeah).

Just another day in my mind (oh yeah).

I've been feeling like this a long time.

I've been thinking 'bout, thinking 'bout you (oh yeah),

Everything about you that I like, yeah.

Ah ooh… I don't know what it is,

But I love it all, love it all.

Hate to let you go, let you go,

So you're never gone (oh yeah).

Something on your mind?

You need to let it off, let it off.

Oh, tell it all, tell it all.

I don't wanna feel this way,

I can't even concentrate.

Tell me why I feel this way, way... yeah, yeah, yeah...

Tell me why I feel this way.

I don't even feel the same,

I can't even concentrate.

Pull up on Ashanti, burning palm tree,

Gucci on, smell like an OZ (yeah).

Homegirls hating 'cause you happy, yeah,

Tell 'em fall back, 'cause they don't know me (nah).

Put it on my face like acne, yeah,

We can turn our bed to a track meet, yeah.

All them broke bitches don't attract me (nah),

They don't want love, they just wanna tax me, yeah.

'Cause I spend a lot of money like it's growing on trees,

Buy you anything, girl, you know that shit's a breeze.

Let them haters hate while we flying overseas,

Staying in our lane while we rolling up the tree.

Drip so sick, I ain't even have to sneeze,

Shawty so thick, ass shaped like a “C.”

Never ever sweat her, I just play it like a “G,”

Top floor, Fontainebleau, and you naked on me.

I don't wanna feel this way,

I can't even concentrate.

Tell me why I feel this way, way... yeah, yeah, yeah...

Tell me why I feel this way.

I don't even feel the same,

I can't even concentrate.
